The Living Murray water purchase project

The Living Murray Water Purchase closed at 6pm on Tuesday, 30 June 2009. Over 8 weeks, the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, through The Living Murray program, purchased up to $50 million of high security water entitlements from willing sellers in South Australia and Victoria. The purchase received over 350 expressions of interest from willing sellers in New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.

Due to an order made under the NSW Water Act on 29 May 2009, expressions of interest received from NSW were prevented from participating in The Living Murray Water Purchase. All willing sellers from NSW who have submitted an expression of interest have been informed of this development in writing.

Expressions of interest for the Reserve List are no longer being accepted.
